BREAKING AND REMAKING CONCRETE
2018 / Ticino, CH

Material gesture study in the Swiss Alps

The project is approached with an underlying theme of change. Our observations revealed a constant breaking and remaking of matter in an anthropogenic manner: cement factories are carved into hillsides to produce the concrete that line tunnels through the mountains. Starting from the demolition site as our source for material, we dedicated our focus to the potential in reversing the concrete cycle. It is possible to consider that there is no start and no end to a concrete cast.
